getting started
Smooth Operator lets you plan DJI waypoint missions visually on a map. Tap or click to place waypoints, configure each one, then export as a KMZ file and upload to DJI Fly for execution.
faq
How do I create a mission?
Right-click anywhere on the map and select "Add Waypoint" to place a waypoint. Use the Inspector panel to view all your waypoints, the Waypoint Editor to configure each one (altitude, speed, heading, gimbal pitch, camera actions), and Mission Configuration for global settings like finish action and disconnect behavior. When you're ready, save your mission to the Mission Library to sync it across your devices via iCloud, then open it on iOS to upload to DJI Fly. You can also export directly as a KMZ file via File > Export Mission.
What drones are supported?
Smooth Operator supports any drone that is flyable through DJI's app, DJI Fly.
Can I edit an existing mission?
Yes. Import any compatible KMZ file to view and edit its waypoints, then re-export when you're done.
Does the app require an internet connection?
An internet connection is needed to load map tiles. Optional Wind and Above Ground terrain features also need internet access to query weather and elevation providers. Mission creation, KMZ import, and KMZ export can still be done locally.
Does the app collect any data?
Smooth Operator does not run ads or analytics. If you use Mission Library cloud save, the app stores mission names and mission content in your private iCloud account. If you use Wind or Above Ground terrain features, the app sends selected coordinates to the weather or elevation providers needed for those features. See the privacy policy for details.
